Math Tutoring
Halle has been tutoring for over three decades, first as a peer tutor in high school, then as an undergrad at University of Florida's math lab, little realizing that teaching math would become a career and life passion.
Since then, Halle has tutored students of all ages, including elementary, middle, high school, and college students.
She has also worked with adults needing to bolster their math understanding and confidence for a variety of reasons, such as taking the GRE or other exams, and has supported teachers to better understand mathematics and the many opportunities to teach it well.
Approcah
I'm committed to learning about my students in order to best support them. As I learn how they think, and what they understand, I am better able to support them to learn and grow. Unfortunately, many people have developed a belief that they "can't do math" or they're "not a math person." I see this as a failure of our education system. Certainly we all have strengths and weaknesses, natural talents and propensities, but we are all humans, with human brains inside our heads, and this means we are naturally designed to contemplate quantity and patterns.
